Just bought a 2000 V40. Had a chance to drive it on a long trip over the weekend and it performed beautifully. My only misgivings (I have a five-day window to return it to the used dealer) relate to maintenance. I've been a little spoiled by my '93 Corolla, which, though short on amenities, was a stolid performer (109K miles; it's never failed to start or required any unscheduled maintenance). I know that the V40--being a higher performance car-- will require more maintenance, at a higher price. I just hope to avoid unnecessary repairs that I fear a Volvo dealer would recommend. So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on no-nonsense service shops in the Boston area. Also, are there any good technical manuals for the do-it-yourself V40 owner? I've had no luck looking on the web.
Thanks,
Jonas
