Sluggish low end power 850 1994

I've recently experienced poor power/acceleration in lower gears when accelerating from a full stop. Car has 148,000 miles and has been meticulously maintained. This has occurred both when running air conditioning and when it is off. Tranmission selector is in economy mode in which it stays. Just flushed transmission but no improvement. It is not a tremendous loss of power, just noticable. Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.
