I am interested in purchasing a new or used Volvo V70 XC AWD - 2001, 2002, 2003 and am trying to educate myself about them before making the leap. There seem to be a lot of 2001s on the market. Why? A salesman suggested they are off lease but I am surprised at just a two-year lease - and so many of them...
This site has given me a heads-up on AWD/bevel gear failure because of improper tire use. Is the Haldex system proven? Proven in conjunction with Volvo's viscous coupling? And is it a BIG improvement over past technology? Worth the cost of the new car?
I am also reading that working with the 'right' dealer can make the difference between getting a warranty claim approved or having a hassle, etc. Can anyone recommend a 'right' dealer in southern Ontario?
What should I be trying to get into the deal if and when I get there? For example, after reading many messages here, I think I'll be planning on an extended warranty (not a term that is usually in my lexicon).
Any other tips or information would be very much appreciated!
Thanks...
