I have a 1998 S40 T4, and I've just done 40,000km on it as i don't use the car often. My mechanic had to replace all 4 disc brake rotors and pads costing in total
$AUD 1330 (Australian dollars), this is highly unusual for a car as i've only replace the pads once at 20,000km. My other car BMW 318is hasn't even required rotor replacement and that car has done 90,000km!. Is this a fault on volvo's behalf? if so have they fixed the problem with new rotors that you can get now? if so then my new rotors should be the newer versions cuz they're genuine volvo parts, and volvo updates their parts...has anyone had similiar problems? I think this car is getting close to been a lemon in my book, either that or a car that requires highly expensive repairs.... with 1 new rotor required for every 2 brake pad replacement!
Anyone with common experience or thoughts please respond...
P.S. S40 rotors are made from 70% iron cast metal and 30% recycled toilet paper!
