CLUTCH PROBLEMS? 850 1995

I've just bought a manual 1995 850.

I've noticed that in order to take off in first gear, I need to accellerate pretty hard (accelerator is pretty difficult to push) and / or release the clutch very very slowly. The car then does not accelerate very fast unless I really floor it.

Could this be a slipping clutch.

I also notice a slite crunch when engaging 4th or 5th gears.

ANy feedback appreciated
