0-60 in 8.5 and 16.5 for the 1/4 mile. The new BMW Mini-Cooper that everyone is going gaga over does 8.5 and 16.6, virtually IDENTICAL numbers!
The turbo has it's own set of problems. It's rather under-tired for the amount of power. I have my winter tires on the car now and it's now severely under-tired. I always leave the traction control on, and I squealed my tires at the stoplight TWICE today. Embarrassing!
My impression is that a slipping clutch, well. it slips! The usual perception would be that there are a lot of rpms generated for the speed of the car.
Parenthetically, I wonder if the OP has a dirty throttle body or binding accelerator cable.
