Can't Open Gas Cap or Trunk on S70!!

The other day when I was trying to fill up at the gas station, the gas cap cover would not open after I pulled on the little switch on the driver-side door. Nor did the trunk either. This is the second time it has happened to me.

I didn't know where the manual override is for the gas cap cover and I ended up breaking the plastic latch as I pryed open the cover. The day after, everything seems to work again (ie. the trunk and gas cap releases responded again). So I'm not sure what exactly is faulty here.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? Also, where is the manual opener for the gas cap? In any case, I'm bringing this back to the dealer for them to sort this out.
