Brake Shims 850

Steve-

The shims definately help the rear brakes from squealing and are very easy to install. I had the best luck using OEM Volvo pads from the dealer. Seeing that your brakes are two years old now, it's probably time for new rotors and pads depending on your annual mileage. I don't know of anyone out your way but I will recommend P & P auto repair in Manchester, CT and Eurpoean Motorcars in Middletown. P & P is a tiny little shop, but they know their Volvo's. It's probably a 35-40 minute drive up Rt 44 for you. They're on West Center Street in Manchester. There's also a place that deals in a bunch of used Volvo's, especially old 240's out on RT 32 just before you get to Willimantic, but I'm not sure of the name. I will forward next time I'm heading down to New London.
