Vacuum elbow 850

I took my 1996 850 Volvo wagon to be serviced because the check engine light came on. The tech said that the diagnostics came back with alot of codes (at least 9). They looked through all the codes and came up with a leak in the vacuum elbow, a $3.00 part. But to get to this elbow, they must remove the power steering pump which brings the cost up to $296.00 (they want to also replace the rotor and distributor). If that doesn't clear all the codes, they are looking to replace the mass airflow sensor, another $247.00. It took them 3 hours to research this at $80.00/hr. Does this sound logical or am I being rooked? The car was owned by someone else who had it serviced at this dealership plus others in Germany. They had replaced the O2 Sensor and did breaks the year before. I bought the car because of its reliability and soundness. I feel it is one of the safest cars to drive my kids in (the reason I bought it). But the service costs will bankrupt me. Need some sound advice.
