S60 T5 wheel removal? S60

Hello,
I own a 2001 S60 T5 with the 17” alloy wheels. I’ve owned Volvos for the past 26 years with over 300,000 miles on 4 different models.

I’m new to the site and as the case with most of the subscribers I came with a question in hand.

Over the weekend I had a puncture in my right rear tire. If that wasn’t bad enough, when I went to remove the lugs from the wheel I bent the supplied wrench. I had just had the car in for it’s 30,000-mile service and included in the service was tire rotation. My first thought was that they must have over tightened the lugs. I called a towing service and the truck driver finally got the loose.

When I got home I went around the car and tried all the wheels and could not break any of the lugs loose. I even broke a ½” drive wrench in the process. Hen I called the dealer this morning they gave me a story about Volvo having trouble with the lugs corroding because of the different metals that the hubs and lugs are made of.

Has anyone else had this problem are even heard of this?
