Hello All,
I've been reading this board for a few months now but this is my first post. I have a 1993 850 GLT with the dual zone climate control. My A/C is working fine at 95K miles from both sides, but I'm only getting heat out of the drivers side. If I let the system try to achieve the set temp I get the flashing A/C and recirc lights, so I checked the code and got 1-2-2, air temp sensor signal absent or faulty. I've read on this board that sometimes you can clean a malfunctioning sensor with alcohol and it will work again, the accumulated dust and dirt can sometimes cause it to fault. I'd like to try this before I plunk down any cash at the local dealership for a new sensor. However, my problem is finding them. I've also heard here that there are two cabin air temp sensors per side of the vehicle, for a total of four. There are two located in the headliner, behind the front grab handles, but where are the other two, specifically the passenger side one? If I can get to the passenger side ones easily and clean them maybe I'll get lucky. If not, does anyone know how to test the sensor to see if it's faulty, I'd hate to replace both if only one is bad but how to determine which one. I have a nice digital multimeter but don't know what I should be looking at to test them. Also, if I do need to replace one (or both) does anyone know what to expect to pay for them?
Thanks loads!
