Fumoto oil drain valve users. I Need Help

I am planning to install the fumoto oil drain valve in my v70. The company at its website states that 5 cyl volvo engines require an adapter in addition to the valve, because of the recessed port.
The original oil drain port/plug does not appearsto be recessed.
My questionis: do I need the adapter, or the valve would fit just fine.

Any info is really appreciated before I buy just the valve.
