80,000 miles: how long before costly repairs? S40-V40

My 2000 s40 just turned over 80,000 miles and I'm wondering how long before I start having to replace expensive components....my family's experience with 240's would suggest that I could go almost indefinitely with only regular maintenance.

However, the build quality of the s40 just isn't the same...sorry, but it seems more like a VW than a Volvo...and my experience with VW's would suggest that if I don't sell it before it gets about 100,000 on it I'll be sorry...(VW's are great cars...I realize that my experience is just one statistic, but just the same I probably won't own another VW - long story involving coil packs, aux air pumps, wheel bearings, many many sensors and lots of other electrical stuff). I know that the s40 was the result of a joint venture with Mitsu...have owned two of them and had "average" reliability from them....

Anybody with lots of miles on and s/v40....and an opinion?
