While I don't think it is related... Yesterday I went to the garden center to get soil. I loaded 8 bags (40 lbs. plus they were wet)in the back and was on my way. I got out of the lot, down the road 500' and the car stalled. I have had a clunk while braking and accelerating and I thought, "See if taking the soil out makes a diference." Well it started and ran fine. I left the soil behind planning to retrieve it with the help of a neighbor. A few minutes after I got home my neighbor told me he saw someone picking up bags of soil off the sidewalk. Oh well.
A few hours later the car started fine. After a two hours rest it started fine again. Stopped for frozen custard and 10 minutes later the car wouldn't start. This morning it started.
I changed the cap, plugs, rotor, cmp sensor & fuel system relay (at the front of the engine) and nothing. I know, throwing parts at a problem doesn't help. But...
Finally, and I am not sure why I didn't do this from the start, I disconnected the fuel rail and cranked the car. No fuel.
More money to the parts business, I ordered a fuel pump ($175 from alloemvolvoparts.com, not bad) and the other fuel relay (under the fuse box cover).
How do I go about removing the fuel pump?
Is there an easy way to make the tool?
Is this even the right thing to do?
Should I tow it to the dealer?
Can I accept failure as a learning tool?
Is there a God? If so... Why did someone take my soil?
In anticipation of much needed help, thank you. (or IAOMNHTY)
