I have a 96 850 turbo, ~140k. Recently noticed a ticking sound at idle, classic "sewing machine" variety. I suspect a lifter has an issue. Last week had a scheduled service visit to the dealer (I let them do the diag, then I do the work). Their report notes the ticking, attributes it to "deformed oil seal". My question, what oil seal? Or is this their equivelent of "your muffler-bearing is shot"?
