Recently purchased a 98 V70-T5 w/119K on the odom. Contacted orig. selling dealer [Annapolis Volvo in Annapolis MD] and reviewed the service history w/service manager. Everything recommended or necessary was done until 84K when the car was traded and then resold locally to 2nd owner. No service history past that point but the car looks very good inside, ext. has a small dent on the right front passenger door. I got this car at an auction locally after it was repo'd from 2nd owners; ran a pre-check via Autocheck.com and no accidents or issues were revealed.
However - I've noted a possible problem with the gear shifter. It's very difficult at times to shift from P into any other gear. Or back to P from any other gear. I have my foot on the brake of course when shifting. This happens in the driveway, or in flat paved parking lots [no hills]. Would the car benefit from a trans fluid flush/change or does this issue originate elsewhere?
BTW< this is my first Volvo, and I'm hoping to keep it through winter at least. Thanks for any advice.
