Our 2001 S80 T6, 46,000 miles, has been in twice for what I describe as drive train slack. It also occasionally does a rough shift. The most common occurance is a noticable clunk when slowing to a stop as the transmission downshifts to first. It does not do this all of the time. Occasionally, it makes a very noticable clunk from third to fourth on upshift. It also seems to have slack in the drive train. When you pick up the gas after coasting, you can feel the slack.
The last time the dealer had it, they said they could not re-create the problem even though the service writer experienced it with my wife in the car. They have re-loaded the software more than once. The car is Certified and is under warranty till 100K. I hate to drive it until is strands my wife somewhere.
Any thoughts?
