water in my oil 850

Can anyone speculate on what gives with my 850--it has water in the oil and oil in the water but no white smoke. Does this seem to be a head or gasket problem? I figure if the heads bad its mucho $--How about if just a gasket--what would that cost to have replaced--Thanks Homer (nervous in Ohio)
