Is this fuel fitting fragile? 850

In preparing to remove the intake manifiold on my 850, I've been reading the procedures in several available repair manuals (including Volvo's own engine manual). I've noticed, with respect to the fuel rail, that no one recommends disconnecting the fuel supply at the left-hand end of the rail. I am talking about the female flare fitting at the end of the fuel supply pipe which drapes from the back, and over the top of the engine--at the fuel rail, that female connector attaches, at a right-angle to the rail.

Why is it that none of the procedures recommend disconnecting the fuel line at that point? They all want you to simply loosen the fuel supply pipe so that you can push the fuel rail assemble out of the way.

Does anyone have any experience with this junction?

Is it particularly fragile?

Once disconnected, does it re-seal reliably after it is snugged-up? Or, does it seem to leak uncontrollably thereafter?

Thanks.
