Hello fellow bricksters. I have a '96 850 glt wagon with 212K on it. It has started to stumble on acceleration, and today had a hard time getting over 70 mph. I've replaced the spark plugs, dist. cap and rotor, air filter, cleaned the flame trap, and replaced the fuel filter. No improvement. I don't know why the check engine light hasn't come on (yes it works) and don't have a code reader. Can a code be generated without the light flashing? I suspect the fuel pump - has anyone done a pressure test themselves? How often has someone gotten a "bad" fuel filter? Any other culprits? TIA for any help befoire I spring for the pump.
