What year 850s and V70s was a turbo with a 5 speed available? 850 1996

Hello All,

I have three questions:

#1) I have two '96 850 GLT wagons with 5 speeds. I'm looking to ad another wagon to the fleet. I am specifically interested in finding a a used 850/V70 wagon that is a turbo and comes with a manual 5 speed. I know that in the 90's in the U.S. (Canada, a different story) if you ordered a 850 with a turbo you automatically got an automatic. Were any of the 850 wagons sold in the U.S. with turbos also available with a 5 speed? If so, what was the model name i.e. "850R" or (850T5) and year? I recall Volvo had variations of the two model names I mentioned.

#2) Same question for the V70 wagons. Say from 1998 to 2001, where there any V70 wagons sold with a turbo and 5 speed for the U.S. market, and if so, what years and what was the model name, again, i.e. "R" vs. "T-5".

#3)Finally, if there were multiple years that the Volvo sold a wagon with a turbo and 5 speed in the U.S., what year(s) are considered the best in terms of being the most trouble free? I like my n/a 5 speeds, but with a 168 HP, they lag sometimes. I could never afford or maybe justify buying a turbo with a 5 speed new, but as a used car, assuming it hasn't been beaten to death, that I could justify.

#4) Where would be the best place to look for a used Volvo wagon with a tubo and 5 speed?

Thanks to all who respond.

Hugh
