Took the car back to the dealer for some minor warrenty work and had the service guy check again about the lack of vent hose to the ECU.
The car originally had a vent hose into the ECU box with the hose inlet being conected to the radiator fan shroud. The radiator fan was replaced and the new shroud does not have an inlet for the hose and there is no fan inside the ECU box. According to the Tampa area Volvo service rep, there are several a/c hoses which are next to the ECU box and this provides adequate cooling.
After I picked up the car I took it to my independant Volvo mechanic and they confirmed this statement, but not with a 100% gaurantee.
I still have a problem that originally the car had a vent hose for ventilation and now it does not. Any ideas?
