Throttle system..and its parts. V70-XC70 2000

Some part of throttle system began acting up in the past month since a new ETM was installed under warranty..but althoough the symptoms were the similar, dealr says the codes indicate it's a malfunctioning throttle poition sensor under the gas pedal. I pay $50. and extended warranty pays the remining $175 or so to install and test, CDN $105 for the part..and would you believe it? virtually each model apparently has a distinct model of position sensor..one reason they don't try to stock them all at the dealer.

We'll see! I've been shocked at how many things can go wrong in a vehicle with such a reputation for dependability. But then, harken back to Jamie Kitmans' article about Crapulent Luxury..about the manufacturers trying to outdo eachother in their race to have all the electronic gadgets, but don't have the time or money to work out all the bugs prior to aggressive introduction dates.

Maybe I should have kept the 97 960 after all. It was built using thinking from another era.
