Water Pump and more 850 1994

So I developed a slight coolant leak and this morning I took the car to the indie Volvo garage. They said the water pump is leaking and full of oil plus everything including timing belt covered with oil.

I have been trying to cure the oil leak thing for some time - replaced flame trap, ran engine cleaner in the oil to try and clean the oil trap, had rear mains replaced last year (along with timing belt). The leak is less than it used to be but still leaking.

They quoted me $580 for water pump, 2 cam seals (to cure the leak) and timing belt replacement. That didn't seem like a bad price, but I am afraid of spending the money and then havign the seals blow out again. What can I do to ensure that that won't happen - besides what i've already done?

Is it even worth doing this work (car has 231,000 miles)? I was planning to keep it it looks and runs great. Of course nowI'm afraid timing belt will fail even thought pretty new because it will get degraded by oil and then I'll be really in trouble.
