Hazy taillight lenses on 850T wagon 850 1995

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove a stubborn white haze that has developed on the outside of my 850 turbo wagon taillight lenses, especially the upper lenses? I tried a light abrasive that's made to clean plastic convertible windows, and that had no effect. The dealer wants $800 for new lenses plus labor.
