the car just died S80

I was driving home on the freeway and all of a sudden I felt a power loss. no warning what so ever. Luckly, I was able to pull over to the side ASAP. It just died, no codes. Now, I doesn't start-up. Any ideas, of what it might be. I'll check basic mecahnical diagnostics (air, fuel, sparck) as soon as a can. I'm trying to avoid the stealership if I can.
