850 fuel level sender 850 1996

Hi,

My fuel gauge is consistently off. With full tank it shows app. 95%, and then drops very rapidly down to 3/4. The gauge hits bottom with app. 20L left.

Anyone had this? Could it be a bad ground connection? (wishful thinking)

Does anyone know how the fuel level sender changed in later models?
