OBX - Beach driving V70-XC70 2001

I have teh 2nd Gen XC and wondered if any of you'all have had them on the beach. We are headed to OBX NC this summer, and I would like to travel in the wagon over the suv. I would imagin I am better off than the 1st gen model with clearence....
