My fiance's '94 850 sedan has been a bit finicky to start lately. To start it, you need to prime the fuel system by turning on the ignition to run the pump before engaging the starter. Sometimes you can forget and it will just start or sometimes you really need to let the pump run until it stops. This occurs in both warm and cool weather. Lately it's been acting up even more by periodically refusing to start without a lot of priming and cranking.
The car has 190K miles with just about everything but the fuel filter is original. The filter was replaced recently. I've checked and replaced a bunch of rubber vacuum lines, including the one out of the FPR. I'm supposing that the next thing to do is to check the output of the fuel pump and then to replace the FPR. I'm looking for advice before I get gasoline all over myself and/or shell out the cash for a new FPR.
Thanks much,
Will
