Couple of minor things 850 1994

Just recently bought a Volvo 850 (non turbo).

Two things - when you come to a sudden stop, the motor can sometimes die due to the engine RPM dropping to a really low value; when in idle it idles fine - not rough or anything.

Also, when the A/C is running, it sometimes "whistles" faintly. Still blows full cold


Ideas?
