Mike--I agree with the two earlier posts. Just got a phone call from wife who drives a 97 GLT wagon in Norway that I shipped over to her, and the up shift arrow is starting to come on. Nothing failing as dramatic as yours, but it does look like the infamous PNP switch is starting to go, like the evaporator and ABS module. Go to Volvospeed.com, click on Bay 13, click on Repair and Maintenance, scroll down to the bottom and you will hit a site detailing how to change out the PNP switch. After you read all about it, you will discover, like I did, that you may need an alignment tool for the final installation. Look at my post, two after yours, in which I asked whether it is critical or not to have one to do the final alignment installation. Dick
