Replacing PNP switch 850 1994

I am getting the dreaded flashing arrow and my 94 850 turbo is getting harder and harder to start. Although I am not getting a specific code that the PNP switch is at fault, every other indication is pointing to it (I have replaced the TPS sensor based on the code but that had no effect on the intermittent starting problems). (Is there any other causes of the flashing arrow?)
I am about to replace the PNP switch and I am wondering if anyone knows if it can be replaced without having the alignment tool that is referred to on Bay 13's description of the replacement process?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
