Brake Recommendation

I've searched through many of the old posts regarding this issue. I need to replace the brakes on my '97 854 GLT. Approx 3-4 yrs ago, I replaced the rotors and brakes with Volvo OEM. Now the pads are down at minimum (3-4mm). The dealer is recommending that the rotors be replaced again after only one set of pads. I asked for the thickness measurement, but they wouldn't give it to me and instead said (the rotors were grooved a bit). So, I'm going to measure them myself and determine if they warrant replacement.

Many of the combinations that I have seen recommended - Volvo OEM pads/rotors, Zimmerman rotors, Brembo rotors, PBR pads (not so good), Mintex, and others. I would like to cut down on the dust but I don't want to give up the performance.

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Many thanks in advance.
