Gas filler door V70-XC70 2001

Last week I got this frantic call from my wife that her car is literally "falling apart." She was filling up with $3.50/gallon gas and when she opened the gas filler door it fell off. I inspected it when I got home and the top hole where the spring attaches to the door broke. I tried to epoxy a new hole and when I was trying to reattach the door and spring to the black hinge mount on the car, one of the spring locators on the black part mounted to the car broke. Has anyone out there run into this and how did you fix this? How does the door/spring black part all interact to form a hinge. I looked at my 96 855 Turbo and that has a completely different style( much sturdier I might add/229,000 miles and never had this happen). Thanks in advance for your help....
