Brake Caliper movement 850 1993

After replacing almost everything on the front end of my car, I realized my rattle was being caused by either rattling pads or worn caliper pins. The rattle goes away when I apply the brakes. My question is, how do I tell if it is the pads or the pins? Second, could it be the anti-rattle clips fell off or are broken (do they exist at all)? I found on thevolvosite.com (850 1993-1997 Brake Hardware Kit Rear for both wheels (4) Caliper Pins (2) Anti-rattle Clips). So I know they exist for the back wheels, but what about the front?

I can move the caliper front to back about 1/4in, I would assume that is not normal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff
