'98 S70 Replaced Timming Belt S70 1998

Hello All
After reading all the posts about replacing the timming belt I finally made the decision to replace mine, it was amazingly easy to do!!! It took about 2.5 hours and that included stopping at each step to review the instructions on bay 13 and alldata.com. the belt had 100k miles on it and still looked good. The hardest part was getting the belt off the crank pulley without removing the damper. To get a better look at the timming marks on the crank I removed the serpentine belt tensioner and the top and sides of the computer housing. I have the mechanical tensioner so the bay 13 instructions were a litte different. I also repalced the t-belt idler and tensioner pulleys and serpintine belt. With the sparks plugs removed the motor was easy to turn over with a 30mm socket on the crank pulley and extentions to bring the ratchet ouside the fender, I could turn the motor and watch the T-belt turn!!
If your mechanically inclined and have the right tools, including the tool to hold the cam gears this is an easy job.

Marc
