Sorry, I looked for you here as someone had a really good write up on how to do this but I couldn't find it. The general consensus on other boards it not to take the engine completely out but to suspend it and work on things from underneath. It's just too much trouble to take all the electronics, hoses, mounts, etc. off to take the engine completely out. For such a little part as a seal, such a lot of work! You'll need a good set of wrenches, torx as well and a lot of patience. You'll need a good way to support the transmission from below too. One guy got to the seal and it would not come out. Someone had glued the seal in there really good and he had to "pick it out," so be ready for anything....those on volvospeed seem to agree that it could be a 10 hour job. I thought there was this procedure on Bay13 but I was wrong. Most would rather pay a good indy $800 on up to do this job. Good luck and let us know how things go.
