air mass flow meter V70-XC70 1998

Hi: for last few weeks the car lambda control turned in and out several times. Error code indicated air mass flow meter. Nothing bad happened, however: fuel consumption was not changed. Yesterday I was not able to start car (as if the fuel was not delivered): more experienced fiend told me air mass flow meter is damaged. After disconnecting the wires, the car starts. I have Volvo V70 R AWD 1998. I can see the following on the air mass flow meter: Bosch 861 19 1a 106. Does anybody have any idea what can be the precise description of tha air mass flow meter? Local Volvo dealer asked equivalence f approx $550 for a new air mass flow meter, and I am looking for some alternative.

Thanks in advance

Marek
