V-70 stalling V70-XC70 2001

Car is stalling after it is warm, and this is intermittant. There is a noticable surging of the engine speed when you stop. Other than that it is running fine. Milage is about the same. Type of permium fuel does not seem to matter. I don't think it is a fuel problem. Seems to be an electrical problem, and intermittant ones are a PIA!. Up to yesterday, no codes shown on the readout. Today took it into the dealership that could not find anything wrong 4 weeks ago. They now tell me that the codes show a failed mass air sensor, and throttle idle module failure. Cost to cure is $1,500. A bit much for a car with some 64K on the clock I think. (I also drive a '91 940 with 179K on it, and have never had a mass air failure.) In any event, I will contact Volvo and NHTSA and we shall see what transpires. Oh yes not lights, no warnings, nada. I hate intermittant problems!!!
