engine torque bushing 850 1994

When it was time for me to do the bushing replacement, I dismounted the whole strut, and used an arbor press to take the old one out, and then put the new one in.

The ipd urethane bushing does look very cool, and it's cerainly a snap to replace in the future, but I chose the "press out-press in" method for two reasons. First, I thought that cutting through the old bushing was going to make a major mess. Second, I already had a Volvo bushing, and figured I might as well use it.

With the engine cool, spreading some rags or something to catch all the chips will make clean-up a snap, if you choose the hacksaw method. A Sawzall makes it a 10 minute job.

The original Volvo bushing on my car was pretty well shot at a bit over 100,000 miles. I've been told that the urethane bushings last virtually forever.
