V-70 stalling V70-XC70 2001

In the bad old days, read before the front wheeles, I used a spray carb cleaner with the mass air in place on my old '91 940. Since my Govt. has dained to protect me from my own worse instincts have had to modify it a bit. This time I used about 1-1/2 oz. of a cleaner called 'Sea Foam' with an eye dropper into the base of the unit. Capped both ends with saran wrap, & rubber bands. Let it sit for some 15 min. until the stuff had volitized completely. Then opened it up & with my compressor set to 3 to 5 lbs (very low press., sprayed it with air, until it looked clean. Did it again with unit in place, re-attached everything, & ran the engine up to high idle 8-900 R's. It smoked like a bas#**#. Ran rough for about 20 seconds, & smoothed out. Inspection of the mass air, with light and magnifying glass shows no deposits, or dirt. Just to be on the safe side, I changed the air filter again. Sea Foam is an additive/cleaner originally used on outboard engines, & with care can be used on 4 cycle units. It does not take much, it is very powerful. Friend of mine who cleans & works on bikes and those ultra-lights put me on to it. Some automotive places are carring it. But again it is very powerful. & a good dose will wipe out your neoprene seals, so caution is required.
