Something sliding around under the dash. What could it be? 850 1997

Several months ago I began hearing a little thunking noise coming from what appeared to be the left upper heating vent on the dash. It got progressively louder until I can definitely hear something that sounds like a loose piece of plastic sliding around. If I accelerate, I hear it slide back till it hits something. Step on the brake, slides forward and stops. Even turniing right or left I will hear it slide around. Sounds like it's coming from directly beneath the left dash speaker. I don't think this is unique. My other 97 in Norway is starting to make the same noise. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Dick
