'00 S70 Stalling Problem S70

TomL

The antenna ring is part of the cars security system. It's communicates with the key that's put in the ignition. When it doesn't recognize the key, it will let the car crank and maybe turn over for 1 to 2 seconds then it shuts off. I think the key's have some small computer chip in them, that's why they have to give you new keys or 'reprogram' them. I'm no tech, but thats my understanding of it.

I have a 2000 S70 (80k)miles and have been through two antenna rings already, the last one I had to pay for. :(

I miss the old day of small keys, these volvo keys are big, I don't even car around the wireless door/trunk opener. It's like carrying around two golf balls in your pocket.
