98 V70 AWD - vibration at 65+ mph in rear - not tires V70-XC70

Hi All,

I took the plunge and gave up on my 745's and got a V70 AWD. I know, poor me. :-)

Anyway, I've got a terrible vibration in the back at or above 65mph. Had all the tires balanced and rotated them...no change. Read a lot about bad driveshafts so I pulled that out. Still shakes. Going to put new rotors/pads on the back this weekend to see if that helps. I left the Viscous Coupling in when I pulled the driveshaft...I suppose it could still be that causing the vibration. Could even be drive axles, I guess. I wouldn't think it's hubs because it would also do it at low speeds.

Also, even though the driveshaft doesn't seem to be the cause, the center support bearing rubber surround seems to be really sloppy. Are they all like this?

Any tips or advice on where I should go from here are appreciated. Thanks!

Mike
