850 coolant tank problems 850 1995

so i got the radiator changed back, early april. there were some problems with the coolant mixing with my transmission fluid and then my oil tank. big mess. so i thought when my mechanic hit me with an $1100 service bill that everything would be set. so i was, very apprehensive when on a drive into the city, my coolant light came on. i checked the tank and it was empty. bone dry. Now i can fill it with coolant, but on lengthy drives it empties, and that light comes back on. did my mechanic do a faulty job? i have not driven the car for an extended peroid of time, and didnt have time to get it sorted out before leaving, because my preperation to leave took priority. now i am back and behind the wheel and this problem is slapping me in the face. please help me
