heater core??? 850 1995

Hi. Did you say you replaced the heater core, etc. in about 2 hours time? Mechanic has my 1993 850 GLT, trying to find source of hot waxy smell when heater is on, and reason for blower motor glitches. Was going to try and rule out the heater core, indicated that if that WAS the problem, this would be a BIG DEAL to fix, necessetating dismantling of the whole dash; clear implication of a labor intensive, very big bucks job. Is it??? Thanks.
