I have a bunch of basic questions because my car was bought used and it didn't come with a manual. Is there anywhere on the internet I can download the manual for free? I have a 95 850 wagon.
I read somewhere that one should use overdrive most of the time for best fuel economy--is this true?
I also don't know the pros/cons of the econ vs. sport mode and what exactly putting the car into "winter" mode does. Can someone explain it to me please?
Forgive the rudimentary nature of the following questions-- I'm hoping someone can clarify for me (I have a 95 850 automatic wagon):
1.How do I turn on the overdrive, and when should I use it?
2.I notice when I put it on "3" (3rd gear? or is this the overdrive?) a little orange arrow appears on the dash. What is this?
3. Also, what does the "L" stand for?
4. There is also a little button to the top right of the gear changer that says something like (based on memory) "shiftlock override"--what does that refer to? And when should I use it?
5. And finally! Is it bad if I shift into "N" neutral while I'm at a stop light, or shift into neutral as I'm approaching a stoplight? I'm used to doing as I've driven a manual for so many years, and I suspect it saves gas. Will this damage my automatic transmission?
Thanks so much!!
