Brake feel 850

I’ve never liked the brake feel on my 94 855, or my mom’s 98 V70XC. I do however like the brake feel on my 85 245DL. The brakes on the 245 seem more responsive and less spongy than the 855 and the XC.

Would this be caused by the ABS system or is it just the differences in the brake system itself.

Would adding Steel braided lines help?
