Oil dipstick replacement 850 1994

The oil dipstick broke on my '94 850 Turbo wagon. I looked up the part in Vadis (9135006 for engine #287014) and ordered the part, only to find out it had been superceded by a new part (9497557) which required a new dipstick tube (9497550) as well. I ordered both along with a new "O" ring for the dipstick tube. Installation was easy but I checked the oil level on the old dipstick prior to replacement and found that the replacement reads about 1/2 quart lower than the original.
Has anyone else had to replace this part and did you have any issues with the oil level?
