Water leaking through roof at rearview mirror V70-XC70

Water is leaking into our 2000 v70 at the rearview mirror/forward center lighting console. I posted before and based those responses I've verified that the sunroof drains are draining properly. Also, water does not collect at any other spot of the headliner. Now I'm curious about a few things and hoping one of you out there can help:

1. Is it difficult to remove the headliner to figure out where the water is coming in?

2. Is the weather strip around the windshield functional or mostly just decorative? It seems loose in a couple of places. Can I replace that weather strip myself or do I need to have a shop/dealer do it?

3. Does water leak in through the rails? Is there some drain associated with water seeping in through the rails that might be clogged?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is my wife's car and she is not happy about the raining inside the car!
